Companies do not always purchase staff insurance policies because they expect to be sued. Still, there may be times when a claim arises. Here is what you should do and expect to happen when filing or reporting a claim.   Choose a Reporting Method   Whether you are reporting the claim in response to something like a theft or you have been made aware of a lawsuit against your company, you need to contact your insurance provider using one of five ways:   Email Internet Phone Fax Mail   Using one of these methods, send all necessary documents for your claim to your provider.   Submit Relevant Information and Documents   It’s not just claim documents that you will need to submit. You will also need all of the necessary information concerning your insurance policy, including items like your policy number, insurance program, when and where the loss or claim occurred, the type of loss or claim it is, a description, and the insured’s name as well as the name and information of the insured’s contact.   Receive Acknowledgement From Your Provider   Once your claim has been reported, your provider should get back to you within 2 days of receiving your claim. You might receive a letter, a phone call, or even the assignment of an attorney if the claim has to do with a lawsuit.   Sometimes a claim covered by your staff insurance policy may come up. If it does, expect to carry out the above steps to spur your coverage into action. Should you have any questions or concerns, call your provider right away.
